The Notre Dame Outdoor Club is devoted to self-propelled travel in the backcountry of British Columbia. Open to all students and staff of Notre Dame Regional Secondary, the Club provides training and gear for for adventures on land and water in all seasons.
Sea KayakingFrom Indian Arm to the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound, we explore our coastal waters by kayak. Students are trained in the Paddle Canada kayaking program to make sure they have the skills they need to be safe and have fun. |
Canoeing We follow the Recreational Canoe Association of BC’s lakewater program as we explore local lakes. The canoe program builds skills and experience so that we can run our Bowron Lake expedition every two years. |
wilderness CampingWhether base camping or backpacking, Club members are constantly learning and practicing wilderness camping skills. Fire-building, tarpology, backcountry cooking — these are skills meant to last a lifetime. |
